Whispers of Wisdom

We want to tell you we love you

Though we know we must say goodbye

And that we will all miss you dearly

Each trying our best not to cry.

We will never forget all our talking

Of your voice, we each hear the sound

And how happy you were then to see us

When each of us finally came ‘round.

Your worries, our road to salvation

And for knowing our Savior we thank you

But with Him we know we’ll have guidance

Through this, that we know we must do.

We know you will always be with us

Freddy, Danny, Jim, Jenny and me.

No proof of this needs to be shown us

For we know right where you will be.

Mom, our hearts right now are in question

As we ponder our life’s loss of you

And the steps taken in our tomorrows

Make us feel like we’ve not got a clue.

We hope that you will always watch over us

And with Jesus be our guiding light

Giving us strength when we need it

To help us in this endless fight.

Our guardian angel you are, Mom

Sitting on each of our shoulders

Whispering to us your wisdom

Guiding us as we get older.

We don’t want to say our goodbyes yet

Though we know you will meet us one day

And we’ll pick up right there where we left off

Before you went with Jesus that day.

Placed in your arms is a bundle of joy

Gleaming, you stare at your new baby boy.

His skin is so soft and he smells so sweet

While inside the blanket he wiggles his feet.

You hold him so close and near to your heart

And wonder at how did this miracle start?

Feelings much stronger than those of your dreams

Your heart is bursting with emotion it seems.

To protect him and love him as long as he lives

A vow of which you so easily give.

As you rock in the chair and he drifts off to sleep

You pray to the Lord his soul He will keep.

Unconditional love from the start

A special place he holds in your heart.

Your love is so strong it cannot compare

For him you know you’ll always be there.

The First Mother’s Day

I know I came into this world

Just not so long ago,

But I hear my Mommy’s beautiful voice

And I know I love her so.

I love the way she holds me close

Cause she’s so soft and strong.

When I look into her loving eyes

I know that I belong.

Grandmother, she loves me too

She’ll help take care of me

She tells my Mom she is so lucky

To have had a child like me.

I think that I’m the lucky one

To have a Mom like her

And to have a Grandma that’s so sweet

I’m luckier for sure.

I know that God has blessed me

For this I’m sure to say

Cause He made her so special

That He gave her, her own day.

I shall take this day to honor her

For her love year after year,

But for this very first one

From God my words she’ll hear.
